Derek Vincent Smith, known as Pretty Lights, started his Analog Future Tour on November 6th in Columbus, Ohio. The Fort Collins, Colorado native is on track for a 22 date tour and is set to end his tour in Denver, Colorado on New Year’s Eve. Pretty Lights performed at Detroit’s Masonic Temple November 7th , in partnership with The Crofoot and seemed to be filled with new and old fans. As a new fan of the artist, I was instantly impressed with his unique rendition of electronic music. Pretty Lights’ performance was impressive to watch. Playing a two hour and 45 minute show, the performers would play funk/smooth-sounding renditions of electronic songs. Smith picked up the bass guitar occasionally throughout his set to start jamming with the other members of the band. Their grooves created a unique funk wave for the fans in Detroit to enjoy. Seeing Pretty Lights at the Masonic Temple was the place to be, whether a fan of electronic music or not, everyone could enjoy this live performance and walk out knowing that it was an incredible night.
